All residents of the Greene County school district are encouraged to learn about the proposed regional career academy and new high school, and to offer input before further design work is done.

• Thursday, Jan. 18 – 10 am and 1, 5, and 7 pm at the Greene County Community Center in Jefferson
Watch for the date and times for meetings in Grand Junction.
The proposal includes a regional career academy that would be owned by the school district with Iowa Central Community College equipping and staffing it. Courses there would focus on skills needed by employees in local industries and businesses. Students from eight school districts would attend and evening adult classes would be offered.
A new high school with a competition gym would be adjacent. The proposal calls for private funding for the gym.
The campus would be located on Highway 30 west of AAI in Jefferson.
The Friends of Education committee and school administrators hope to have a bond referendum on a special election April 3.
